You need to be within 75-150 feet of the lost Fitbit for the app to pick up the bluetooth signal. If you are hundreds of feet away, unfortunately, no app can help you find your Fitbit.

Colour me impressed. I was out trail building in the bush, mowing weeds and cutting back undergrowth. Twice before I’ve lost my Fitbit 1 along the 8km of trail that I maintain, and both times I got lucky and happened to spot it on the ground. This time, no luck. The grass was waist high and who knows where it fell. Couldn’t find it after 3km of checking.
A quick search turned up this app. $4.99 seemed worth the chance of not replacing my Fitbit. And wow, does it work! I walked back along the trail where I thought I lost the Fitbit, pinging the app repeatedly. Within minutes I got a signal, and a quick back-and-forth with the signal strength meter narrowed the location to within a metre. And there it was, under some long grass. Very impressive bit of software that does exactly what’s promised, very easily, and very fast. The signal strength meter is nicely done!

One caveat. It wouldnt run on my iPhone 4. Needs a 5C or 5S, for Bluetooth 4.0.
Some bad moments
App info lacked the necessity to have an iPad much newer than mine with a more advanced version of Bluetooth. So I bought it and unwittingly wasted my money. I could not get the starting screen as it was greyed out in spite of Bluetooth being turned on. I never got a chance to try to find my FitBit One. Just because is (apparently) designed for iPad does NOT mean it works on all iPads. Not everyone runs out and grabs the newest thing. Some of us like to sit back and watch you early adopters of technology get the bugs ironed out before we wade into the water. This was my first & last experience with apps by Front Seat, LLC.
I lost my Fitbit Charge today. I am still connected to the device on bluetooth so I know its nearby!
Have tried the app in every room in my house and it still says it cant find one.

Im really sad that I bought this. Such a waste of money. I tried using it and it wouldnt pick up the signal. Found it in the room I was searching in using the app and it couldnt find it
I lost my fitbit charge yesterday and i got this app to find it ..Its showing that it detected a Fitbit Zip somewhere and trying to load the location or something ..But no luck in findng my Fitbit Charge..I lost my money
I used this app to find my missing One years ago. Didnt work well, but it did lead me to my device. Tried to use for my Alta, it could pick it up at all. I found it the old fashioned way, you know, digging through everything and found it myself. Tried to see if the app could "find it" while it was in my hand...still nothing.
This works with the one. It does not recognize my Alta or my surge.
